About the event
This lecture/master class presentation focuses upon issues relating to teamwork (with stage directors, choreographers, etc.), score preparation and editing (making cuts, determining what is actually practical in any given situation), personnel (student vs. professional players), rehearsal and ensemble strategies, clarity of stick technique, and other matters pertaining to theatrical conducting. Participants will examine sample passages from musical scores and may be invited to join in the discussion, pose and suggest solutions to problems, and to conduct in a master-class situation. The presentation will last roughly one hour and fifteen minutes.
